Boy with Polynesian tattoos

“One of my models has a small Native American side with a very brown skin and slightly almond eyes. His face is very often represented, hardly changed, in my drawings.
One day this boy came to my studio with a make-up kit. He wanted to do something new: finally I suggested drawing some tattoos on his body.

Fortunately I had a wonderful book about Polynesian tattoos in my library. He was soon captivated by the idea. After some tries, the tattoos were drawn along his body, especially his legs.”

The result of this day is represented in the watercolours painting here above.
